Review by hotel critic
Last month, my family and I decided to stay at Mountain Lodge during our travels in Katoomba. Initially, I was drawn to the location, being just a stone's throw from the Scenic Walkway. The boardwalk was perfect for our family outings, winding through lush Jurassic-era rainforest, making it an adventure for the whole crew. The hotel itself was an appealing mix of cozy and functional. While my partner thought the vibes were a bit quirky, we discovered that the common spaces were more than sufficient and offered a family-friendly atmosphere. The kids loved hanging out in the spacious dining area, where we prepared simple meals in the basic kitchen. The staff were nice and provided a warm welcome, sharing tips on local attractions. The quiet rooms gave us much-needed privacy after our long days exploring. While it’s not luxurious, Mountain Lodge proved to be a family-friendly spot, blending comfort with access to the great outdoors. We'd choose to return whenever we’re back in Katoomba.
